The Technology and Innovation Support Centre was opened at Lesya Ukrainka Volyn National University. The event took place within the framework of a visit to the higher education establishment by the representatives of the Ukrainian National Office of Intellectual Property and Innovation.
Deputy Director of the Office Ihor Parenchuk, Head of Innovation Departments Development Olha Kronda, Deputy Head of Innovation Development Department, Head of Technology and Innovation Support Centre Network Development Department Anastasiia Yarmoliuk, Head of Grant Activity Coordination Department of Innovation Development Department Halyna Shtogryn visited the University.
At the beginning, the delegation of the Ukrainian National Office of Intellectual Property and Innovation discussed with Rector of the University Anatolii Tsos possible options for mutually beneficial cooperation between the institutions. Anatolii Tsos and Ihor Parenchuk also signed an agreement on the creation and further operation of Technology and Innovation Support Centre and inspected the premises where it is located.
«I would very much like the opening of this centre to be a serious step for the commercialisation of our scientific developments for the University,» said Anatolii Tsos.
Ihor Parenchuk thanked Rector and Lesya Ukrainka Volyn National University for their willingness to cooperate. «We work owing to you, the innovation you create. We want to work with you and be your partners,» Ihor Parenchuk said.
Dean of Faculty of Law Anton Demchuk said that the University representatives will work in the open Technology and Innovation Support Centre, interact with students and lecturers, provide information and legal support, promote the development and implementation of innovative and original ideas, their realisation within the educational institution, the region and the country.
The Technology and Innovation Support Centre (TISC) was created to provide users with appropriate and high-quality technology and innovation support services.
Tasks of the TISC according to the contract are as follows:
– support and promotion of the activities of the TISC network in Ukraine regarding analytical research in the field of implementation and commercialisation of technologies, acquisition, use and protection of intellectual property rights;
– holding thematic conferences, events, organisation of trainings, exercises and seminars in the field of intellectual property and innovations;
– dissemination of knowledge on issues of creation, legal protection and commercialisation of objects of intellectual property law;
– implementation of scientific expert and scientific advisory activities;
– providing users with access to patent databases and other sources of patent and non-patent information in the field of intellectual property for the purpose of conducting a patent search;
– popularisation of intellectual property development and innovative activities;
– promotion of commercialisation and transfer of objects of intellectual property rights;
– promotion of interaction between all participants of the innovation process.
