Usually, on Christmas Eve and New Year holidays, a shopka (nativity scene) is opened at Lesya Ukrainka Volyn National University. Today, December 22, 2023, Lesya’s people also followed this tradition. The University representatives gathered near the Christmas location next to the main building of the University.
Rector Anatolii Tsos made a welcome speech. He recalled the main achievements of Lesya Ukrainka Volyn National University owing to the team and congratulated everyone on the holiday. «Dear students, lecturers and employees of the University, Christmas and the New Year are always associated with kindness, family, and well-being. Unfortunately, Moscow’s aggression brought us pain, tragedy and danger. Therefore, first of all, we thank the Armed Forces of Ukraine, everyone involved in the resistance and defense of Ukraine for the opportunity to live and work. This year we have volunteered gloriously, completed many important projects and programmes. In the upcoming year, I wish you happiness, family comfort, the implementation of various projects, and most importantly, Victory and peace,» said Rector.
During the event, compositions by the folklore ensemble «Rozmai» and the bandurists trio «Dyvostruny» were performed for the visitors.
