Students Meet with Hero of Ukraine Vadym Voroshylov

On March 24, 2025, Hero of Ukraine, fighter pilot, Lieutenant Colonel of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Vadym Voroshylov, better known by the callsign “Karaya” visited Lesya Ukrainka Volyn National University. The event was held at Faculty of History, Political Science and National Security for a large number of students, lecturers and everyone willing to communicate in person with the outstanding military man who became a symbol of resilience and courage of the Ukrainian Air Force. 

Opening the meeting, Acting Rector Anatolii Tsos expressed sincere gratitude to Vadym Voroshylov for the visit and emphasized the significance of such events: “We are grateful to you for finding the time to meet with the students of our University. Such events are extremely important, because they allow young people not only to gain valuable knowledge, but also to be inspired by real stories, learn from experience, and better understand the challenges facing our society. Your example is not only a symbol of courage, but also a source of motivation for all aspiring to work for the good of Ukraine.  

The event was coordinated by Ivan Rudianyn, Deputy Dean for Educational Work, Youth Policy and Social Work of Faculty of History, Political Science and National Security. During the meeting, the students had an opportunity to ask questions and receive detailed answers. They discussed various topics: from the features of combat missions and the challenges faced by Ukrainian pilots to the general situation in the Air Force and the prospects for the development of Ukrainian military aviation. 

Vadym Voroshylov shared his service experience, spoke about the realities of air battles and the importance of professional training for military pilots. “I want to tell you, especially first-year students: you are the future of Ukraine. It is you who will rebuild and lead our country. Everyone in their place must do everything possible so that our children live in a free and prosperous Ukraine,” Vadym Voroshylov emphasized. Everyone could express sincere gratitude to the Hero for his service, courage, and the opportunity to share his experience.
