On April 9, 2024, a meeting with Olena Kuzmych on the subject of media literacy was held at Faculty of Philology and Journalism. Olena Kuzmych is a night editor of TSN, communicator, candidate of philological sciences, clinical psychologist, an employee of the «Rokada» charitable foundation which is an executive partner of the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees.
Journalist students gathered in the media centre of the faculty to have talks about disinformation, propaganda, fakes and manipulation. The meeting took place within the framework of the discipline «Press Service» (Lecturer – A. V. Moshkun).

During the meeting, Olena Kuzmych shared her experience of resistance to fakes and manipulations exposure in the media space, emphasized the observance of journalistic standards during the war: «We began to spend less time searching for information. On the one hand, there is the priority of speed of online publications, and on the other, the desire to check the reliability of information sources. But the problem is that the speed of providing information goes against the verification of sources credibility».
The guest also spoke about the specifics of working as a night editor of the TSN website. She recalled various funny stories and even admitted being the author of the «cotton» meme. Mrs. Olena talked about the formation of a personal brand and underlined a positive effect of active management of social networks.
The meeting with Olena Kuzmych was not only a reminder of media literacy importance but also the discovery of new world of media depths.
