A cooperation agreement has been reached between Lesya Ukrainka Volyn National University and Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań, which provides for:
– exchange of experience, organization of mutual visits, lectures by representatives of both higher education institutions;
– the opportunity for university employees to participate in conferences and symposia, joint scientific research;
– implementation of exchanges, internships, academic mobility between scientific, pedagogical and administrative staff and students.
Annual semester academic mobility is realised between the universities, on a free basis for students from Lesya Ukrainka Volyn National University. So far, four students have taken advantage of this opportunity. The students positively evaluate their stay in Poznań. In particular, mobility participant Victoria Parkhomenko says: «From the first days of October, I fell in love with Poznań and the academic mobility programme. I was astonished at the fact of feeling comfortable in the community of foreign students from Turkey, China, Kazakhstan, Spain, Italy, Greece, India, Indonesia, the Czech Republic, Poland and other countries. Participating in a semester exchange to Adam Mickiewicz University is an invaluable experience.»
On an ongoing basis, summer schools are held in Poznań for scientific-pedagogical and administrative employees of Lesya Ukrainka Volyn National University. These are, in particular, summer schools on the following topics:
– «Migration from Ukraine in media coverage – people, frames, narratives» (Migration from Ukraine in media coverage – people, frames, narratives), in which the scientists from Department of Political Science and Public Administration, Faculty of Psychology, Faculty of History, Political Science and National security Post-graduate students from Ukraine had the interesting experience of participating in interviews, which were organised and conducted by the students of journalism and social communications from Belgium, the Netherlands, Poland, and Spain and devoted to covering the life of Ukrainians in the conditions of war;
– «Complex neighborhood: Poles and Ukrainians in the 20th century.», in which the students of Faculty of History, Political Science and National Security participated. They attended lectures on important debatable historical and political topics, such as: «Conflict or dialogue of memory? About modern ways of commemorating the anniversary of the «Vistula» operation»; «National problems in Poland after World War II» and others»;
– «Across disciplines: How to study in an interdisciplinary framework», where the representatives of Lesya Ukrainka Volyn National University (Assistant Professor of Department of History of Ukraine and Archeology Halyna Maleonchuk and a third (educational and scientific) higher education level student majoring in 052 Political Science Orysia Kharytoniuk participated). The programme of the event included presentations by leading specialists in the field of training of higher education applicants and implementation of interdisciplinary research. Among the lecturers was Dr. Kostiantyn Mazur to share his experience of organising international mobility at the Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań with the school participants, and also present the project of the European University EPICUR (European Partnership for an Innovative Campus Unifying Regions);
– «Physical Culture and Sport in the higher education system», where Deputy Dean for Scientific and International Grant Cooperation, Associate Professor of the Department of Fitness and Cyclic Sports Lyudmila Vashchuk took part. The program was full of interesting meetings with Olympians Łukasz Nowak and Karolina Nadolska working at the Centre for Physical Education and Sports, vice-rectors, deans and professors of Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań. The purpose of the school, in addition to the educational component, is psychological and emotional support of Ukrainian students and scientists during the war to restore their efficiency;
– «Science Communication», where Valentyna Stelmakh, Deputy Dean of Faculty of Geography for Educational Work, Senior Lecturer of Department of Physical Geography, took part. The programme was full of interesting meetings, trainings, lectures, classes, workshops, excursions, and more;
– «Psychology of Reasoning –Theory, Practice, and Applications», where master's students of Faculty of Psychology of the EPP «Psychology», «Practical Psychology (Psychological Counseling and Psychotherapy)» and «Clinical Psychology» participated. The programme was full of interesting meetings, trainings, lectures, classes, workshops, excursions, and more. Acquiring new knowledge, communication with colleagues from different universities and mutual cultural exchange within the framework of the «Psychology of Reasoning – Theory, Practice, and Applications» psychology summer school undoubtedly enriched the students' experience;
– from December 3 to 9, 2023, the lecturers and students of Faculty of Psychology participated in the «Polish language for future psychologists from Ukraine» winter school, organised on the basis of Faculty of Psychology and Cognitive Science of Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań. Within the school's framework , bachelors, masters and lecturers of Faculty of Psychology had the opportunity to acquire new competencies, communicate with school participants from other higher education institutions and Polish colleagues, and outline directions for further cooperation.
In 2023, Adam Mickiewicz University implemented almost 30 summer schools in total to involve the representatives of partner higher education institutions. The administration, scientific and pedagogical staff, doctoral students, post-graduate students and students of Lesya Ukrainka Volyn National University participated in about 20 trips to Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań as part of summer schools and organised events within the framework of cooperation between the institutions.
