On March 25, 2025, the chess and checkers competitions among the teaching staff and employees of Lesya Ukrainka Volyn National University ended. The competition lasted for two days: March 24 – in chess, March 25 – in checkers.
Each team consisted of a man and a woman. Both experienced players and beginners were among the participants demonstrating excellent training and team spirit. So, the results have been summarised.
The prizes in the chess competitions were taken by:
– Faculty of Geography by the team of Oleksandr Vovk and Valentyna Stelmakh – 1st place;
– Faculty of Information Technologies and Mathematics by the team of Yaroslav Pasternak and M. Duzhuk – 2nd place;
– Faculty of Physical Culture, Sports and Health by the team of Petro Herasymiuk and Olha Kasarda - 3rd place.
The prizes in the checkers competition were taken by:
Faculty of Information Technologies and Mathematics consisting of Anatolii Fedonyuk and Maryna Kibysh – 1st place;
Faculty of Geography consisting of Hennadii Holub and Inna Tyshchuk – 2nd place;
Faculty of Physical Culture, Sports and Health consisting of Petro Herasimiuk and Olha Kasarda – 3rd place.
Rector of the University Anatolii Tsos congratulated the winners and awarded them with diplomas and memorable souvenirs. Department of Health and Physical Culture thanks all the participants for active participation in these competitions. We wish everyone health, inspiration for work and a peaceful sky above their heads.
